Recently, Paul Burchill has fallen on hard times, mostly thanks to Mark Henry. On the May 12 Friday Night SmackDown, Henry sent a message to Kurt Angle by destroying Burchill in their match. Three weeks later, Henry once again defeated Burchill, but after the victory, the World's Strongest Man continued his assault. He slammed the swashbuckler into the ringpost several times, leaving Burchill injured and having to be taken out on a stretcher.

Burchill was victorious, and the following week, he was accompanied to the ring by his “buxom wench,” Lady Regal. While the proper Englishman was understandably humiliated, further stipulation required Regal to follow Burchill’s fashion tips until the swashbuckler lost a match. On the April 21 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Burchill made Regal try on several different outfits before their tag team match, including a teddy bear costume and a gorilla suit. He settled on a buccaneer costume, but during their later match, Burchill refused to tag Regal, leaving his partner high and dry to get defeated by The Gymini.
